Located in both New York City and Albany, the Governor's Office of Diversity and Inclusion provides executive leadership and strategic advising on initiatives to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion across New York State government. The office aims to ensure that the State workforce represents the diversity of New York; establish the State as a competitive, model employer in which the workplace is an inclusive environment where every employee can thrive; advance Governor Hochul's vision for New York, ensure that the State complies with all applicable anti-discrimination laws, and ensure that the State serves all New Yorkers in effective and equitable ways. About the Internship :
The Governor's Office of Diversity and Inclusion is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Diversity and Inclusion Intern for the Spring 2026 term. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with New York State's interagency collaboration, assisting in the development and execution of equity and efforts across the statewide enterprise.
Interns will have the chance to work closely with senior and policy staff, conduct research, draft memos and reports, track litigation, legislation, and hearings, and support various ongoing initiatives. Additionally, interns will be involved in administrative tasks that contribute to the efficient operation of the office. This position offers a substantive experience in statewide equity and inclusion efforts, providing interns with a deep understanding of how the office develops and implements statewide initiatives.
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree-granting program. Recent graduates are not eligible for this internship.
