This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior NetDevOps Engineer, Networking Automation in the United States .

As a Senior NetDevOps Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of automated network infrastructure solutions across complex, multi-vendor environments. You will leverage modern DevOps practices, infrastructure-as-code, and intelligent automation to transform traditional networking operations into scalable, auditable, and efficient workflows. Collaborating closely with architects, engineers, and product teams, you will build automation pipelines, integrate AI-enhanced tools, and ensure compliance across hybrid cloud and on-premises networks. Your work will directly impact the speed, reliability, and innovation of network deployments while mentoring junior engineers and promoting best practices across the organization. This role offers a dynamic remote work environment with occasional travel for client engagements and team workshops.

Accountabilities :

  • Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform, Python (NAPALM, Nornir, Netmiko, FastAPI).
  • Integrate and manage network source-of-truth tools like NetBox or Nautobot within CI / CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
  • Develop RESTful APIs and microservices to enable network automation and observability.
  • Collaborate with product, cloud, and security teams to support hybrid environments spanning on-premises, private, and public clouds.
  • Standardize configurations and compliance baselines across multi-vendor network platforms (Cisco, Palo Alto, Arista, Meraki, Juniper, Fortinet).
  • Create architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and workflows to facilitate automation adoption.
  • Mentor junior engineers and advocate for best practices in network automation and DevOps workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent professional / military experience.
  • 7+ years of combined networking and / or systems engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of professional coding and automation experience.
  • Strong understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, mobility, and network fundamentals (SNMP, LLDP, DHCP, PKI, VPNs, subnetting, QoS).
  • Proficiency with multiple tools and frameworks : Python (NAPALM, Nornir, Netmiko, FastAPI), automation platforms (Ansible / AAP, Terraform, CloudFormation), source-of-truth tools (NetBox, Nautobot), version control (GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps), diagramming tools (Lucidchart, Draw.io, Visio), and databases (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerization, and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrated ability in technical writing, diagramming complex architectures, and communicating effectively with technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Preferred : experience with AI-enhanced automation tools, large-scale deployments, security automation, cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP), and SDN controllers (ACI, NSX, DNAC).
