Position Overview
The Customer Success Logistics role combines key responsibilities from both field logistics and shipping / receiving functions. This hybrid position supports SIMCO’s mission to deliver exceptional service by ensuring the accurate, efficient, and secure movement of customer equipment through the calibration process from pickup and delivery to warehouse receipt and outbound shipment. The role requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction, operational accuracy, and teamwork across departments.
Responsibilities and Duties
Customer-Facing and Logistics Responsibilities :
- Safely perform pickups and deliveries of customer equipment with professionalism and courtesy.
- Load, secure, and transport equipment to ensure safe handling and protection during transit.
- Maintain company vehicles by following scheduled maintenance and promptly reporting any issues or accidents.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to meet service timelines.
- Communicate proactively with customers and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely information flow.
- Accurately complete and submit delivery or shipment documentation in accordance with company procedures.
Shipping & Receiving Responsibilities :
Receive incoming customer equipment, subcontracted items, and materials; verify accuracy and update system records.Properly package and label all outgoing shipments to ensure safe and undamaged arrival at the destination.Prepare and maintain documentation for shipments, including freight charges, tracking numbers, and airway bills.Organize equipment for will-call, COD, and site transfers between SIMCO locations.Print daily shipping reports (UPS, FedEx, etc.) and maintain accurate records of shipments.Manage stock levels for packaging materials and maintain a clean, organized workspace that adheres to safety standards.Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Minimum one year of experience in driving, logistics, or shipping / receiving.Knowledge of safe material handling, packaging practices, and freight / shipping systems (UPS, FedEx, etc.).Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP systems (SAP preferred).Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.Physical Demands
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unaided.Frequent standing, bending, and repetitive motion as required for loading and unloading.Extended driving periods (four or more hours at a time) may be requiredWorking Environment
Driving and managing pickups and deliveries, with time spent at SIMCO locations and / or customer sites.May be exposed occasionally to fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals in the shipping / receiving area.Regular travel between SIMCO facilities and Customer locations
