GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The A&P Mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty. Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures'

manuals.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting / repair procedures and replacement of components.
  • Required to make entries in aircraft logs and records, and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians
  • throughout all aircraft modifications and / or maintenance efforts.

    SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND / OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

  • Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License and / or Aviation Maintenance Technical School.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience on GIII and Learjet 35 / 36.
  • Problem Solving / Analysis.
  • Must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural / mechanical technicians.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet schedules.
  • Knowledge and use of special tools / equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks.
  • A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and
  • sheers.

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Meet experience requirements on airframes or powerplants.
  • Strong mechanical ability and skills.
  • An aptitude for working with complex equipment and understanding technology is also necessary.
  • Computer literate and understanding of electronics.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Talk and hear regularly.
  • Sitting is required.
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and / or balancing all day.
  • Use fingers and hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • Lift and / or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work in hangars, on the flight line, or in repair shops utilizing hand, power tools, test equipment, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Work outdoors in inclement weather conditions enduring high noise levels when making emergency repairs. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
