The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill (UNC) is seeking a full‑time board certified / eligible academic orthopaedic sports surgeon to join its team. The ideal candidate will have expertise or a strong interest in shoulder, hip, elbow, and knee, including advanced cartilage restoration, osteotomies, and multi‑ligament injuries of the knee. Arthroplasty of the knee would be a bonus.
The candidate will hold an academic appointment (open rank—commensurate with experience) and will be expected to teach orthopaedic residents and fellows, be actively engaged in scholarship and research, and participate in the development of a robust academic program. They will also be part of the Orthopaedic team and a robust Primary Care Sports team that helps care for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill athletes and covers the athletic program. They will serve in a clinical program that serves the academic medical center, community practices, and the wider healthcare system that spans the state of North Carolina, providing the highest quality patient care while creating a positive and inclusive academic environment for faculty and learners.
