Our software engineers develop next-generation ground system software to meet evolving customer and warfighter needs. This complex space system domain requires collaborative engineering and innovative solutions from top professionals dedicated to the mission.

Initially, this position could be a limited part-time role during the clearance process. Once a U.S. government issued TS / SCI security clearance is approved, full time work can commence. Unclassified work may be available prior to that approval; however, it is NOT guaranteed.  ​. This position is onsite in Richardson, TX.

What You Will Do

Design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain software for cutting edge satellite ground systems.

Work with talented teams of engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment.

What You Will Learn

A breadth of advanced software technologies and techniques including multi-tiered architectures, AWS web services, and microservice software design.

Modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery techniques.

Software lifecycle practices for large-scale defense projects.

Satellite ground system technologies including command & telemetry, flight dynamics, planning and scheduling, and spacecraft operations.

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).

This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding Internships).

Heavy object-oriented software emphasis would be considered.

Experience developing object-oriented software using Java or C++.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued TS / SCI security clearance is required.  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with Agile development methods.

Experience with Python programming.

Knowledge of multi-threaded programming

Experience with microservices in cloud environments.

Experience working within LINUX / UNIX operating systems.

Experience with tools such as Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, Jenkins, Junit, Kafka, and Spring Boot

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is desired. (Please include your GPA on your resume.)

The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education / training, and key skills.
