Associate Attorney, Litigation

We are a growing family law firm in Northwest San Antonio seeking to hire an attorney with a minimum of 2 years' experience to assist the family law partner with managing her caseload and eventually handling their own docket.

The ideal candidate should want a career in family law litigation with a lot of pretrial practice and courtroom experience. The candidate should be able to identify and research issues, prepare cohesive, sound legal arguments, and articulate positions through oral and written advocacy. The candidate is a highly motivated self-starter with an innate desire to help those going through the most difficult periods of their lives. Impeccable character and adherence to the highest ethical standards under the law and in the real world is required.

Salary depends on experience. Benefits include payment of bar and CLE dues, 401K plan, health and dental insurance reimbursement, a path to partnership, and more!

Job duties include :

• Attending and / or handling consultations, client meetings, hearings, trial, etc.
• Client management
• All aspects of pretrial practice (i.e., discovery, preparing / responding to pleadings and motions, preparing property inventory spreadsheets, etc.) You will not have a dedicated paralegal until certain benchmarks have been met during employment.
• Researching issues and preparing legal arguments
• Preparing for hearings and trial (i.e., selecting exhibits, preparing examinations, preparing trial and exhibit notebooks, etc.)
