Job descriptionPatient Demographics : Adults (hematology / oncology population) Patient Volume / Census : Full daily schedule (8 hours patient-facing per day) Admissions : Potential inpatient consults if applicable Rounding : Limited, primarily outpatient-focused Phone Consults : Yes Case Mix : General oncology and benign hematology; GI / GU oncology focus preferred but not required Procedures : Bone marrow biopsies in-office APP Duties : Follow-up visits, chemotherapy education, emergent infusion center support Specialty Backup Available : Oncology group support Support Staff Available : Infusion center staff, RNs, MAs Reason for Coverage : Provider on FMLA leave Hospital Privileges Required : Yes (if inpatient coverage included) Temporary Privileges Available : Potential expedited credentialing Credentialing Timeline : Typically 90 days; expedited requests possible with CT license Compliance Rate (APP) : Fixed (Daily OT after 12 hours; Weekly OT after 168 hours) Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance : Covered (details TBD) REQUIRED PROCEDURES Bone marrow biopsies (in-office) Outpatient hematology / oncology procedures as appropriate Licenses : Active Connecticut license required Board : Board Certified / Board Eligible in Hematology / Oncology (for physicians) DEA : Required Certifications : None specified Experience : 1+ year; oncology / hematology experience preferred Other Qualifications : Ability to manage oncology patients independently; APPs experienced in oncology encouraged Manage outpatient oncology and hematology patient base Provide chemotherapy education and support infusion center staff Perform bone marrow biopsies in-office Cover inpatient consults as needed (if within provider scope) Take on-call responsibilities (physicians only, every 3rd weekend and 1 weekday per week) Collaborate with oncology team, APPs, and support staff to ensure continuity of care
