Chipton-Ross is seeking a Infrastructure & Automated Tools Engineer for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience managing large servers and IT systems, both bare metal and virtual machines
- Experience managing and troubleshooting Networking layer 2 and 3, switches, routers and firewall
- Experience with VMware Administration and Upgrades
- Experience managing cloud services (AWS and Azure)
- Experience managing data backup
- Strong documentation, communication and coordination abilities
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES In this position, you’ll contribute to a team responsible for the hardening, deployment, automation, setup, and readiness of Special Test Equipment in factory and launch environments. Duties may include (but are not limited to):
- Work with Product Security, Software and IT engineers to execute the Infrastructure and Tools team scope of work
- Interface effectively with multiple technical disciplines in a team environment
- Works with the Infrastructure Manager to help transform the existing Test IT Infrastructure and Tools
- Designs networks and complex IT Infrastructure, including redundancy and disaster recovery systems
- Contributes to important initiatives to upgrade existing infrastructure and leads adoption of latest technologies which include virtualization and automation
- Assist in implementing best practices to manage a network server room
- Contributes to developing engineering documentation and processes to reduce waste and maximize repeatability
- Setup of infrastructure tools and environments such as Servers, Virtual Machine, Storage, Network/Firewall.
- Champions Lab Excellence initiatives to continuously improve server room environment
- Works in a hands-on lab environment with a variety of different types of test equipment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Holds a Security+ Certification
- Holds VMware Certification(s)
- 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of Agile Methodologies
- Experience with Ansible, VMware Aria, Power CLI Automation
- Experience in Mix Unix/Linux and Windows, VMWare, NAS/SAN Storage environment
- Experience with hybrid cloud environment
- 5 or more years leading technical teams
REQUIRED EDUCATION Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with experience in an engineering classification). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
WORK HOURS FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Could possibly need to support 2nd shift and/or weekends per business needs
