Mortgage Chain of Title Specialist

This position will be responsible for the processing of mortgage-related orders from our clients. The Mortgage Chain of Title Specialist position is the subject matter expert in all aspects of information related to mortgages and assignment documents and maintains current knowledge of procedures and systems while handling escalated difficult orders. Our Mortgage Chain of Title Specialist exhibits meticulous attention to detail as they analyze search results and process assignment chain issues into actionable items to ensure accuracy.

Essential Functions

  • Review and enter data from images of real estate documents
  • Review and clear assignment chains by creating curative documents
  • Understand process flows to route orders to the correct areas
  • Regularly read procedures for specific handlings
  • Review notes and follow client specific instructions to create real estate documents
  • This position will have KPI metrics based on the number of tasks completed as well as the ability to maintain an acceptable error rate.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends if needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple objectives to meet client deadlines and department goals.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and NTC software.
  • Self-motivated while working independently on assigned files
  • Commitment and ability to cultivate a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Education

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience

  • 1 year - Experience in title, mortgage, or real estate, preferred.

  • Compensation : $15.00 per hour - $18.50 per hour.

    Working Conditions

    Work is performed in a climate controlled indoor administrative office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, depending upon the office or meeting location.

    Physical Demands and Activities

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to communicate. The employee frequently is required to remain stationary. The employee is frequently required to move about the office, operate a computer and other office machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer; rarely position self to maintain files; rarely moves boxes weighing up to 10 lbs. Close and distance observation required with ability to observe objects at close range in presence of glare or bright lighting (e.g., computer screen). Must possess the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand and have the ability to interact with external and internal stakeholders.

    NTC Non-Exempt Operations Position

    The amount of work that needs to be accomplished to service the needs of NTC clients is subject to fluctuations. Due to these fluctuations, NTC may require its employees to move from an area where work is slower to an area where their services are more needed by NTC.

    The willingness of personnel to assist in or move to other areas within NTC, when needed, is an important factor for the company to meet the needs of our clients.
