The Skills Trainer is responsible for performing hands-on training with field employees to ensure they are proficient in the skills required to perform their jobs safely. Frequent overnight travel is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Travel the company geographic footprint to perform hands-on skills training to our team members in
the field
Evaluate employee skills and knowledge during the training process to ensure effective training hastaken place and is understood by every employee
Work closely with Regional Managers and the Safety department to prioritize and schedule trainingsLearn / develop and recommend Best Management Practices for utility industryEnsure that all training materials and processes are compliant with the laws and regulations governingour industry
Recommend improvement opportunities within the organizationSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Trainer does not have any direct reports.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience in the utility line clearance industryEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or education equivalent required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Proficient in climbing and trimming techniques, tree felling, tree top removal, and ground operationsincluding, but not limited to, chainsaw operations and chipping brush
Familiar with all company equipment, including, mobile equipment, aerial lift trucks, dump chip trucks, andbrush chippers
Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive working environment in high stress situationsExceptional communication and interpersonal abilities at all levels throughout the organizationComfortable speaking to large groupsExcellent organizational and self-motivational skillsBasic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and WordAbility to travel is requiredValid Driver’s license with clean MVRAbility to pass the course to become a CPR / First Aid instructor
