Director of Capital Evaluation and Financial Analysis (CEFA) page is loaded## Director of Capital Evaluation and Financial Analysis (CEFA)locations : Richmond, VAtime type : Full timeposted on : Posted Todayjob requisition id : R40238The Director of Capital Evaluation and Financial Analysis role reports to the VP of Financial Strategy, Planning, Performance and Analytics and is primarily responsible for managing the people, processes, technology and influence over all levels of leadership in the Health System in evaluating large capital project requests in connection with the Health Systems Significant Transactions policy, COPNs and large, strategic capital proposals. This highly visible and seasoned healthcare finance executive role will interact and collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to include, but not limited to, Chiefs and Senior Executives, Service Line Leadership, Chairs of Departments, Operations leaders, Financial leaders, legal counsel, business strategy and development, revenue cycle, managed care and cost reporting resources to evaluate and bring integrity to large capital requests (primarily $1mio or more).
- Essential Job Statements
- Key contributor, educator, and evaluator for Strategic Growth Council proposed capital projects during the fiscal year, primarily preceding and during budget cycle. May also be involved with long term planning of capital, financing and operating projections.
- Manage and collaborate on projects eligible for Capital Steering Committee decision making that are between $1mio and $5mio consistent with the Significant Transactions policy / process.
- Refine analytical and reporting tools to prudently vet and present complex financial proformas for the organization.
- Educate constituents as needed in developing sound capital evaluation of projects to include net present value, internal rate of return, payback periods, break even points and capacity and utilization measures.
- Interact with operational and strategic measures and team members related to medical staff changes and pipeline, SG2 demand growth rates for services, and capacities.
- Work in concert with Finance leadership and Capital Reporting to ensure integrity in reporting status and results of capital projects over $1mio.
- Significant contributor to COPN applications as a high functioning member of the team(s)
- Develop and coordinate capital lookbacks as directed by senior management on investment actual results compared to proforma intentions in a timely fashion / cadence.
- Analyze lease and other contracts for financial implications and model as appropriate.
- Lead a team of analysts and drive performance in the strategic capital planning space.
- Ensures responsibility and visible commitment of diversity equity and inclusion strategy, programs, and initiatives through collaboration and implementation of initiatives across the health system.
- Perform other duties as assigned and / or participates in special projects in order to support the mission of VCU Health System.

- Employment Qualifications
- Required Education : Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or equivalent coursework to include intermediate, advanced, and cost accounting, as well as corporate finance.Preferred Education : Master’s degree in business or health administration with equivalent coursework in finance and accounting as noted above.Licensure / Certification Required : Licensure / Certification Preferred : CPA, CHFP
