Job descriptionWork 12-hour day shifts from 6 : 30 AM to 7 : 00 PM 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week (48-hour contracts available upon request) Overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts Every third weekend and every other holiday required Float requirements : First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles) and potentially to Deaconess Midtown (11 miles) 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float assignments Mid-shift float within same campus possible Patient ratio : 1 : 4-5 during day shifts 45-bed unit caring for general medical / surgical patients Required certifications : Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years strong Med / Surg experience and 1 travel assignment required Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class Skills include : PIV insertion, chest tube / indwelling drain management, CBI, drip management (heparin, cardizem), PEGs / NGs, ostomy care, remote telemetry, blood product administration, NIHSS / dysphagia screening Must demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills Care for patients with conditions including gallbladder surgery, colectomy, appendectomy, hip / knee replacements, ORIFs, GI bleeds, CHF, COPD, sepsis, UTI, and respiratory issues Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos Teaching hospital environment may require precepting students and new hires Associate degree or certificate required 3 call-ins can result in termination Referral bonus
