Position Overview :
We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician to support tool installation, commissioning, and startup activities for a large-scale semiconductor facility in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with process instrumentation, control systems, and commissioning activities in high-tech or industrial environments. Experience with Emerson DeltaV or similar distributed control systems (DCS) is highly preferred .
Note : Local candidates in the Austin area are strongly preferred due to on-site project requirements and schedule demands.
Key Responsibilities :
- Install, calibrate, and verify instrumentation and control devices including transmitters, sensors, analyzers, and control valves.
- Support commissioning and startup of process and utility systems, ensuring instrumentation and control loops perform to design intent.
- Assist with functional testing, loop checks, I / O verification, and troubleshooting control logic issues.
- Work closely with engineers and commissioning teams to execute system commissioning plans and resolve punch list items.
- Document as-built configurations, calibration records, and commissioning results per project QA / QC standards.
- Support integration of field instrumentation with control systems (PLC, DCS, DeltaV, or SCADA).
- Adhere to all site safety policies, lockout / tagout (LOTO) procedures, and cleanroom protocols.
Qualifications :
Associate degree or technical certification in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Controls Technology (or equivalent experience).3+ years of experience in I&C installation, calibration, or commissioning—preferably in semiconductor, pharma, or other high-tech manufacturing environments.Hands-on experience with DeltaV DCS systems (configuration, loop tuning, troubleshooting) strongly preferred.Working knowledge of P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.Familiarity with commissioning documentation, test scripts, and validation protocols.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and control logic diagrams.Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.Preferred Experience :
Experience with cleanroom or process tool installation.Familiarity with data acquisition systems and control panel wiring.Basic networking and automation controls knowledge.Previous work supporting CQV or commissioning teams on large-scale capital projects.Additional Details :
