Patient Care Technician

Contingent requirements : + Minimum of 3 shifts per 6-week schedule period + Maximum of 96 hours prescheduled in a 6-week period + Shifts are 12 hours in length + Minimum of 2 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (Friday 1500 Monday 0730) + Must work at least 1 summer and 1 winter holiday + Summer : Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day + Winter : Thanksgiving, Christmas / Eve, New Year's Day + Will also work one of the following shifts : Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween, or the Day after Christmas

General Summary : Performs basic patient monitoring activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Responsibilities : + Remains at bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member. + Assists in calming and / or reorienting patient in cases of agitation or confusion. + Removes visible hazards and / or broken equipment from immediate environment and reports as appropriate. + Records all observations.

Requirements : + High School diploma equivalency + 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
