Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (PICU - Open Heart) night shift position requiring prior pediatric or adult cardiovascular ICU experience and an AR or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) caring for pediatric cardiac patients
  • Specialize in open heart and cardiovascular critical care cases
  • 12-hour night shifts are required
  • EPIC EMR is used on the unit and experience is required
  • Care for critically ill pediatric cardiovascular patients post open heart surgery
  • Holiday coverage is required; must be willing to work Christmas Eve and / or Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve and / or New Year's Day
  • Candidates requiring more than 3 days of requested time off or holidays are not eligible
  • No COVID vaccination required
  • First-time travelers are not considered for this role

    • Requirements

  • Active RN license for AR or compact state required at the time of consideration
  • Current certifications required prior to start : BLS, ACLS, and PALS
  • Must have either 1 year of pediatric CV ICU experience and 1 year of adult CV ICU experience, or 2+ years combined peds / adult CV ICU experience
  • At least one prior travel assignment required
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Must be nicotine free and able to pass a nicotine test
  • Must be able to pass a fit test (no facial hair unless for religious beliefs)
  • Annual influenza vaccination required with no exemptions
