POSITION SUMMARY :

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE :

  • Responsible for reviewing mortgage and consumer loan applications to determine the loan qualification and documentation for accuracy of the loan application. Ensures proper delivery of loans to secondary market.
  • Meet and exceed bank service standards while complying with bank procedures and security protocols.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Utilize sales training skills to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Exercise sound judgement in underwriting residential mortgage and consumer loan files for compliance to loan policy.
  • Review the loan documentation for accuracy to the loan application and preapprovals. Documenting loan file listing conditions for loan file approval.
  • Answering underwriting questions for all bank employees
  • Backup residential mortgage appraisal reviews and valuations.
  • Complete secondary reviews on denied, withdrawn, and incomplete loan applications on residential mortgages.
  • Welcome Home Program management and training.
  • Analyze for eligibility and code portfolio loans to pledge to Federal Home Loan Bank.
  • Check the VIN of all collateral taken against the State's website to verify accuracy of same.
  • Review and process TMS transactions on approved dealer loans.
  • Complete the underwriting portion of the consumer loan checklist.
  • Prepare extension forms, modification forms, and overdraft protection loan forms as necessary.
  • Perform 2nd lender review of declined loans.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding customer's personal and financial information.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as requested.
  • Comply and satisfactorily pass tests for bank policy and regulatory compliance that apply to position.
  • Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and two to three years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Is knowledgeable about the FMAC and other secondary investors' underwriting requirements, working with tax returns and verification of employment, the lien process including reading the title process and reading a credit report.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, precise work and time-management skills
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Strong dedication to accuracy and efficiency

  • Valid Driver's License
