Overview : Clinician, Community Crisis Response
These full-time positions provide crisis intervention, to include assessment, counseling, and linkage and aftercare services, to individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis in various community settings (i.e. emergency departments, community agencies, client's homes, etc.). Heritage responds to individuals seeking help with depression, anxiety, substance use, and / or other distressing symptoms, by providing a supportive response and linkage to ongoing supportive services. The program will provide support to anyone, anywhere, and at any time. The crisis counselor will be a member of the Crisis Care program providing mobile crisis response services in Macon, Dewitt, and Piatt counties.
Positions are currently available on the following shifts :
Full time 2nd shift - 3 p.m. - 12 a.m.
Part time 3rd shift - 11 p.m. - 8 : 00 a.m.
Core Responsibilities Include :
Face-to-face, telephone, and virtual sessions to provide crisis intervention and support in a timely mannerAble to communicate with individuals, friends / family, and referral sourcesAble to work with children, adolescents, and adultsEngage individuals admitted to inpatient psychiatric settings to assist in identifying and linking to ongoing services and supports in the communityAssist individuals with the involuntary admission process at the Macon County CourtAble to complete pre-admission screening assessments for individuals being referred to skilled nursing or mental health nursing facilitiesMaintain positive relationships with referral sources and community providersCollaborate with multiple internal and external providers to coordinate treatment including crisis care team members, support team members, case management, counselors, psychiatric providers, clinical leaders, and other organizations within the communities servedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Ability to engage individuals in behavioral health treatmentAbility to provide flexible services as the present and / or scheduled- each day will look differentAble to provide own transportation and vehicle for work purposesKnowledge of behavioral health diagnosesAbility to work with seriously and persistently mentally ill, substance abusing, or dually diagnosed populationsKnowledge of community resources including psychiatry, substance use, medical, and / or other community servicesExcellent decision making and problem-solving skillsEffective oral and written communication skillsAbility to work independently in a professional environmentAbility to work as a team playerAbility to seek guidance when necessaryStrong customer service skills with everyone encounteredAbility to navigate electronic health recordProficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelInitiative for ongoing self-development (skills, learning, and growing)Education and Experience :
Ideal candidates will have education and experience in providing crisis servicesBachelors or Masters degree in human service related field is required, with the ability to function at a minimum as a Mental Health Professional (MHP)Ability for Masters level Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to obtain licensure within 2 years of employmentValid driver's license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance are requiredSalary Range : $47,840-$75,000 per year ($23.00 to $36.00 per hour) - dependent on education, experience and licensure
