We are currently hiring  Sales Supervisors  for our  Southampton (NY)  flagship.

Role Overview

This is a sales-focused role with leadership responsibilities. Sales Supervisors are responsible for meeting individual sales goals while helping set the tone for the broader store team. This includes delivering exceptional client service, upholding the standards and values of håndværk, and fostering a culture of professionalism and care. Sales Supervisors work closely with the company founder and serve as senior leadership on the floor in the absence of store management.

Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Operate as a self-starter—independent, reliable, and able to manage daily responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Partner with the founder to inspire and motivate the team to achieve sales goals and store KPIs
  • Lead by example through exceptional customer service and commitment to store standards
  • Represent the håndværk brand in conduct, presentation, and product knowledge
  • Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for the brand
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
  • Show deep knowledge of the collection, the brand’s history, and core values
  • Identify opportunities in product, sales, or team development and present thoughtful solutions to leadership
  • Maintain awareness of the local client base, market trends, and competitive landscape
  • Suggest appropriate community partnerships and activations
  • Contribute to a collaborative, respectful store culture
  • Share relevant client insights or feedback with the founder and store team

Sales

  • Build and maintain client relationships through a thoughtful, low-pressure approach to sales
  • Manage and utilize a personal client list to support long-term business growth
  • Proactively network within the local community to grow the store’s client base
  • Consistently meet and exceed individual sales goals and store KPIs (UPT, ADT, etc.)
  • Prioritize the customer experience above all else
  • Guide sales associates in thoughtful upselling and cross-selling using styling and product expertise
  • Reflect the understated elegance of the håndværk lifestyle throughout the sales process
  • Client Experience

  • Greet all customers warmly and with intention
  • Ensure the team consistently delivers a high standard of service across every touchpoint
  • Coordinate client appointments and facilitate consignments as needed
  • Help personalize the experience for each client, setting the brand apart through quiet attention to detail
  • Support a culture of care and individuality in every interaction
  • Team Supervision

  • Promote open communication, teamwork, and accountability among staff
  • Serve as the acting leader in the store when the founder is not present
  • Lead or support store meetings and team huddles
  • Address customer concerns with professionalism and grace
  • Ensure the store team presents and behaves in line with håndværk brand standards
  • Assist in hiring and onboarding efforts to build a strong, aligned team
  • Participate in ongoing training and staff development
  • Help communicate clear expectations and support goal achievement
  • Provide feedback and coaching in partnership with store leadership
  • Store Operations

  • Oversee daily opening and closing procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational standards across all areas of the store
  • Support inventory management and restocking efforts
  • Ensure visual merchandising is maintained in accordance with brand guidelines
  • Assist with merchandise transfers, charge sends, and related tasks
  • Ensure proper handling and organization of backstock
  • Qualifications

    Required Skills

  • Previous experience in a luxury or premium retail environment, with a focus on client-based selling
  • Proven track record of strong sales performance
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office); experience using  Square  or a similar POS system
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage long-term client relationships
  • Appreciation for craftsmanship, natural materials, and understated design
  • Experience

  • 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the luxury or premium retail space

    This position offers an hourly wage of  $25.00 , plus commission on personal net sales.
