The Solutions Specialist role connects clients with efficient, tailored logistics solutions. This position blends business-to-business sales, strategic planning, and problem-solving while fostering lasting partnerships. It emphasizes relationship-building and innovative solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

A Solutions Specialist is expected to pursue a maximum volume of profitable freight in their territory, provide responsive customer service, and coordinate with operations to exceed expectations. The role serves as the customers point of contact through in-person meetings to meet their logistical needs. 2+ years in B-B (Business to Business) sales or equivalent is required.

Primary Responsibilities

• Travels throughout assigned territory to meet customers in person regularly and cultivates relationships with traffic personnel, purchasing agents, production supervisors, sales representatives, executives, distributors, and agents who influence routing decisions
• Keeps the customer informed of new service points and improvements in company service
• Assists the customer with obtaining a rate agreement and submits the request to pricing coordinators through the T-1 Pricing information form
• Regularly checks on major accounts to ensure On-Time service promises are met
• Completes reports of monthly customer activities to identify their current level of business
• Provides information on rates and rate changes
• Submits itineraries on a weekly basis for coverage areas to maximize efficiency when visiting customers
• Maintains positive relationships with drivers in the area and discusses possible leads
• Communicates customer equipment requirements and hours of service to the service center operations
• Informs the customer of Speed Service and Expedited capabilities
• Manages transportation and entertainment expenses in an expense report submitted weekly
• Keeps a record of daily sales calls and enters them in the computer system
• Handles customer complaints through the appropriate channels
• Maintains a valid Drivers License with Satisfactory Driving Record; detailed driving history requirements are listed in the posting
