Job descriptionSafely drive and maneuver large Class B trucks to transport materials to and from job sites. Obey all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle. Maintain a clean and organized truck interior. Operate truck to load and unload materials at designated pickup sites or disposal locations. Ensure that the load is distributed evenly and secured properly to prevent accidents during transport. Familiarity with the operation of dump truck controls, hydraulics, and other specialized equipment. Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure proper functioning. Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and report any maintenance or safety issues. Keep accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, hours worked, and materials transported. Complete logbooks and required paperwork in compliance with state and federal regulations. Communicate effectively with site supervisors, dispatchers, and other team members regarding job schedules, routes, and any issues that may arise during transport. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients and customers at job sites. Be prepared to respond to emergencies or accidents, such as spills or breakdowns, by following established procedures and protocols. Prioritize safety and compliance standards. Always adhere to DOT guidelines. Drive routes in the most efficient way. Complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Actively participate in teamwork throughout the company, clients, and customers. Ensure the truck is clean and organized. Transportation : Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by road, including the relative costs and benefits. Customer and Personal Service : Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Operation and Control : Controlling operations of equipment or systems. Operations Monitoring : Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Monitoring : Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. Critical Thinking : Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Speaking : Talking to others to convey information effectively. Time Management : Managing one's own time and the time of others. Troubleshooting : Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Secure cargo. Follow safety procedures for vehicle operation. Inspect cargo to ensure it is properly loaded or secured. Review documents or materials for compliance with policies or regulations. Operate vehicles or material-moving equipment. Inspect motor vehicles. Review work orders or schedules to determine operations or procedures. Notify others of emergencies, problems, or hazards. Record operational or production data. Record service or repair activities. Report vehicle or equipment malfunctions. Maintain vehicles in good working condition. Connect cables or electrical lines. Verify information or specifications. Read maps to determine routes. Inspect cargo areas for cleanliness or condition. Operate communications equipment or systems. Acquire supplies or equipment. Load shipments, belongings, or materials. Adjust routes or speeds as necessary. Choose optimal transportation routes or speeds. Install parts, assemblies, or attachments in transportation or material handling equipment. Monitor cargo area conditions. Package materials or products. Remove debris or damaged materials. Direct material handling or moving activities. Work may be performed in various weather conditions and may involve exposure to dust, noise, and other environmental factors. Irregular hours and overtime may be required, especially during peak construction seasons. Some flexibility in schedule but must drive during hours that meet business needs, not your personal preference. Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects. Ability to sit, drive and focus for extended periods. Various. Local and out-of-state as needed. Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with relevant endorsements. Clean driving record with no serious violations. Previous experience as a Class B Truck Driver, preferably 3+ years. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for transporting hazardous materials (if applicable). Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely driving and operating large trucks to transport, load, and unload various scrap materials.
