Purpose of Position :

The Senior Manager of Philanthropy is responsible for growing annual revenue generated from individual donors by putting in place a qualifying process for donors. The senior manager will achieve annual fund goals by identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individuals for gifts of $2,500 to $10,000. The Senior Manager role will manage and oversee all middle giving programs for the chapter, including but not limited to donor societies; appeals; and stewardship.

Essential Duties :

  • Helping our donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a

deepening relationship with our organization.

  • Create, manage, maintain and develop individual strategies for a portfolio of
  • approximately 250+ donors.

  • Devise and execute individual strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
  • of assigned portfolio with heavy focus on face-to-face meetings.

  • 12 face-to-face donor meetings a month.
  • Maintain the qualifying process for managing donor cultivation and stewardship efforts.
  • Ensure the correct use of Salesforce including timely input of actions which will
  • increase development team response to donors.

  • Achieve middle giving goals by identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and
  • stewarding individuals for gifts between $2,500 to $10,000.

  • Work to support the Sr. Director of Philanthropy with advancing annual fund as an entire program.
  • Requirements :

    Position Responsibilities :

  • Build, execute, and manage all aspects of the donor recognition, to ensure
  • appropriate donor giving levels are implemented.

  • Grow individual donor relationships to invest in wishes and grow One Wish Society to reach targeted goals.
  • Identify and cultivate new and existing community funding groups and family foundations

  • Work collaboratively with Marketing Team to support fundraising efforts on campaigns
  • and donor mailers.

  • Grow the Fund-A-Wish Program. This program promotes the adoption of portions of
  • wishes of children “waiting for their wish”.

  • Foster a culture of philanthropy within the organization.
  • Identify and communicate all potential opportunities and / or relationships that will
  • increase our chapter’s ability to raise funds and grant wishes to your director.

  • Support Sr. Director of Philanthropy with Wishmakers Council meetings, events, and
  • communication.

  • Support Events Manager with approving external events that appropriately
  • align with the brand.

  • Represent the Chapter at fundraising events and in the community.
  • Adhere to all Make-A-Wish America performance standards and Make-A-Wish Arizona
  • internal controls, policies, and procedures.

  • Work with Volunteer services to engage volunteers as donors
  • Identify opportunities to qualify donors for greater giving, monthly giving, and annual giving. Assess and qualify lapsed donors to reengage
  • Qualifications :

  • Proven experience in major gift fundraising or related development roles (3-5 years plus & CFRE preferred).
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals.
  • Demonstrated interest and willingness to learn about development practices and become an impactful development professional.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) is necessary, along with experience using databases. Knowledge of Salesforce CRM is advantageous.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and follow through with minimal direction to meet deadlines and achieve fundraising goals.
  • Attention to detail, strong project management skills, and organizational abilities are crucial for coordinating fundraising events and activities effectively.
  • Willingness to pitch in and support team members wherever necessary to ensure the success of fundraising initiatives.
  • Ability to work with multiple teams and collaborate with other leaders, while organizing and prioritizing projects and fundraising.
