Support Engineer Job Summary:
Responsible for providing best-in-class technical support, preventive and predictive maintenance, diagnostics/troubleshooting, repairs, spare parts management, and upgrades for x-ray systems and equipment.
Support Engineer Responsibilities:
- Manage technical and engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and records of x-ray systems and equipment, ensuring configuration and change-control.
- Prepare and maintain revised packages of system drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Coordinate with customer personnel to ensure alignment of system documentation.
- Work with inspection services to document system performance, use data for trend analysis, and plan for maintenance and interventions.
- Travel to customer sites (30-50%) for troubleshooting, repairs, debugging PLC or PC based control programs, and system testing.
- Liaise with cross-disciplinary teams to resolve customer issues efficiently.
- Interface with customers via phone, email, and in person.
- Act as a liaison between field and purchasing teams for efficient ordering and delivery of replacement and spare parts.
- Ensure quality and safety are prioritized in day-to-day operations, adhering to safe working practices and quality management procedures.
Support Engineer Essential Skills:
- Associate’s degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant technical and engineering experience, including at least two (2) years of customer-facing responsibility.
- Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on technical experience in an industrial environment.
- Broad understanding of electro-mechanical systems operation and maintenance, with the ability to quickly learn existing equipment and systems.
- Capable of understanding the interaction of x-ray equipment with customer operating environments, processes, regulations, and requirements.
- Strong understanding of PCs and proficiency in MS operating systems, networking, and MS Office Suite applications.
- Prior experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Well-developed technical aptitude and problem-solving skills with proven electromechanical troubleshooting capability.
- Familiarity with CAD programs.
Support Engineer Non-Essential Skills (Highly Preferred):
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with at least four (4) years of relevant technical and engineering experience, including at least two (2) years in a customer-facing role.
- Prior work experience and good understanding of motion control design, PLC/PC programming, and distributed control theory.
- Established skills in the use of SolidWorks.
- Prior experience, at the solution implementation level, of automation and control system software programs.
- Familiarity working with x-ray or CT technology.
- Accustomed to working within a recognized quality management system such as ISO9001, AS9100, NQA-1 or equivalent.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 Per Year
