This position is located in the city of Sacramento .

Under the direction of the Disability Access Services Section Chief (Staff Services Manager II), the Staff Services Manager I directs a staff of analysts who provide policy consultation, education, and technical assistance to other state and local agencies, employers, businesses, and the public regarding disability rights issues and physical accessibility of the built environment. The Department of Rehabilitation is the designated lead State agency on the implementation of federal and corresponding state laws on employment, independence and equality for individuals with disabilities including, but not limited to, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and its amendments, ADA Accessibility Standards, Rehabilitation Act and its amendments, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), California Building Code Title 24, California Government Code sections 11135, 7405, 11546.7, Unruh Civil Rights Act, and Disabled Persons Act.

Under Government Code 14200, this position is a hybrid, in-office / telework position, and may be subject to change. Incumbent must live and work in California. Incumbent can be required to report to the office, or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified and / or cancelled at any time.
