Pay Information

$400,000 to $480,000 per year

About The Position

Job Title : Anesthesiologist – CVICU & OR Coverage

Start Date : ASAP

Job Description

Provide 8–12 weeks / year of service in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), including home call coverage

Oversee a growing team of APPs managing complex post-operative patients (cardiac surgery, major vascular procedures, TAVR)

Deliver anesthesia services during non-ICU weeks, including general OR coverage, obstetric anesthesia, and healthy pediatric cases

Share OR call duties proportionally based on ICU coverage

Work within a multidisciplinary team at a Level 2 Trauma Center

Participate in clinical decision-making, protocol development, and care coordination

Engage in teaching and mentoring residents and APPs

Use Epic EMR for patient documentation

Collaborative environment focused on clinical excellence and patient safety

Requirements

Board Eligible (must become Board Certified within 2 years) or Board Certified in Anesthesiology [REQUIRED]

Fellowship-trained in Critical Care Medicine [REQUIRED]

Michigan medical license or willingness to obtain [REQUIRED]

BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications or willingness to obtain prior to start [REQUIRED]

DEA and CSR / CDS licenses obtained prior to start (no exemptions) [REQUIRED]

Current COVID and flu vaccinations or approved exemptions [REQUIRED]

Clean malpractice and license history [REQUIRED]

Must comply with employee health screening and credentialing process

Open to H1B and J1 visa candidates

Not open to locum, locum-to-perm, candidates with lapsed board certification, long-distance commuters (>

1 hour), alternate shift schedules, or candidates who have applied directly

Shift(s) Description : 8–12 weeks on CVICU service annually (negotiable), home call overnight; remaining weeks include general OR, OB, and healthy peds cases.   Weekend Requirements : Weekends included in rotation; aligned with ICU and OR schedule needs.   On Call Requirements : Home call during ICU service weeks; OR call adjusted proportionally to ICU time.
