Job Title : Experienced Pediatric Triage Nurse (RN or LPN)
Position : Full Time
Job Description : Roslindale Pediatrics is seeking a dedicated and compassionate RN (Registered Nurse) or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) to join team. The nurse will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to our pediatric and adolescent patients. This is a 32-40 hour per week in-person position including evening hours. This position also includes rotating weekend hours.
About Roslindale Pediatrics : Roslindale Pediatrics provides high quality, compassionate, and comprehensive health care for pediatric patients and their families in a supportive and respectful environment. We are a well-established, medium sized (7 physicians, 4 nurse practitioners, 2 behavioral health clinicians) office located in West Roxbury, MA. Our patients are newborn through college age, and many families have been with our practice for generations.
Summary of Duties :
- Triage calls and portal messages for patient inquiries and provide appropriate timely advice following Barton Schmidt Telephone advice protocols, other clinical advice and teaching of treatment therapies as instructed.
- Monitor and manage patient portal refill requests, labs and other in baskets.
- Document patient calls, and other inquiries accurately and within a timely manner
- Obtain / receive STAT results and forward to ordering physician
- Notify parent / patient of test results (lab values, radiology reports etc.)
- Schedule / cancel tests / procedures, and specialty appointments as ordered by physician
- Review lab & radiology results and forward findings to on-call physician
- Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patients' conditions.
- Document patient information accurately and maintain medical records.
- Administer vaccines and monitor side effects.
- Draw and collect blood samples from patients through venous, capillary or heel sticks.
- Performing in-house CLIA-waived testing procedures for Strep throat, COVID, flu, urine, lead, HgB, and sexual health.
- Assist with patient discharge follow up and forms.
- Provide direct patient care, including wound care and dressing changes.
- Educate patients and their families about various healthcare procedures and self-care techniques.
- Collaborate with registered nurses and healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
Position Qualifications :
Current Commonwealth of Massachusetts License as RN (Registered Nurse) or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) required.3 years experience working as a Pediatric RN / LPN in a clinic setting (required)1 year experience with Pediatric Telephone Triage (required)Phlebotomy Training and Experience (preferred)Sound knowledge of nursing principles, procedures and standards of practice.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.Strong attention to detail and organization abilities.Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.Ability to think critically and respond appropriately to medically urgent situations.Ability to work collaboratively with other medical professionals, including medical assistants, behavioral health clinicians, physicians, nurse practitioners, and administrative staff.We welcome applications from passionate RNs and / or LPNs who are committed to making a positive impact on patients' lives.
