About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for a 12-week locum tenens assignment at a critical access facility in Texas. This opportunity begins on Jan 5, 2026, offering 24-hour solo coverage shifts with a minimum commitment of four 24-hour shifts per month. The position requires independent coverage experience, with trauma and rural healthcare backgrounds highly preferred.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide solo coverage for a hospital with an emergency department and a swing floor
  • Perform all lifesaving procedures including intubation, extubation, and ventilation management
  • Conduct history and physical examinations (H&P)
  • Manage emergency codes and acute medical situations
  • Coordinate care with limited in-house specialists; clinic-based specialists available
  • Utilize 24 / 7 lab and X-ray resources
  • Collaborate with transfer centers as needed for higher-level care

    • Additional Information

  • Active Texas medical license required
  • Trauma and independent coverage experience highly preferred
  • Rural healthcare experience highly preferred
