Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Skilled Nursing Facility | Waverly, NY | Full-Time | CFY Welcome | Sign-On Bonus

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and assessments for skilled nursing residents
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
  • Provide evidence-based speech therapy interventions to improve communication and dysphagia management
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists
  • Document patient evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Participate in care planning meetings and communicate treatment progress to families and caregivers
  • Perform audiometric screenings and coordinate appropriate referrals for hearing services
  • Provide staff education and training on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, facility policies, and safety protocols
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and resident-centered care programs

Required Qualifications

  • Master of Arts (M.A.) or Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current New York State license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or eligibility to obtain licensure)
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates enthusiastically welcomed
  • Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a geriatric setting
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation systems
