Pediatric Gastroenterology

Pediatric Gastroenterology  Joe DiMaggio Childrenâ€s Hospital is seeking a board eligible/board certified Pediatric Gastroenterologist with subspecialty training to join a complex GI group. Successful candidates will have strong interpersonal and professional skills and must be willing to take call. Candidates should have proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. The ideal candidate will have completed additional subspecialty training after completing pediatric gastroenterology fellowship.  This is a full-time employed position with the multi-specialty Memorial Physician Group. The position offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability is covered under sovereign immunity.  About Joe DiMaggio Childrenâ€s Hospital Joe DiMaggio Childrenâ€s Hospital is a 216 bed free-standing childrenâ€s hospital in Hollywood, Broward County, Florida located near Fort Lauderdale. The hospital recently underwent a 4-story vertical expansion to double the number of floors and continue to meet its commitment to providing the highest quality and safest care for children in the region. This expansion opened in November 2022 and includes a state-of-the-art Pediatric ICU, a new 20-bed cardiac ICU and step-down unit including new ORs with hybrid capabilities, three cath labs and an interventional radiology suite. The hospital also expanded its surgical capacity with an addition of other new rooms and an interoperative MRI.  Joe DiMaggio Childrenâ€s Hospital is one of six hospitals that are part of Memorial Healthcare System, the third largest public health system in the country. Memorial delivers nearly 14,000 babies per year in three hospitals and has 120 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) beds – both Level II and III services (the state of Florida is in the process of creating a separate designation for Level IV care, for which JDCH qualifies).  Joe DiMaggio Childrenâ€s Hospital (JDCH) has robust high-risk and congenital programs including a US News and World Report ranked pediatric Cardiology and Heart Surgery Program, one of only two active programs in the state that performs heart transplants. JDCHâ€s Orthopedic and Sports Medicine program is also ranked by US News and World Report as the top pediatric orthopedic program in Florida four years in a row and is one of the largest programs in the southeastern United States. JDCH also has robust Neurosciences, Hematology/Oncology and other general and specialized surgical programs (approximately 10,000 surgeries per year), and the areaâ€s largest pediatric and neonatal transport team, which also does mobile ECMO. JDCH also houses the Center for Complex Care, which is a joint alliance with Boston Childrenâ€s Hospital.  JDCH serves over 375,000 children per year from around the state. Approximately 100,000 children are cared for in our three emergency rooms across the county per year. JDCHâ€s services continue to grow with the opening of the new specialty center/ambulatory surgery center in Palm Beach County in 2018 and a new ambulatory pavilion in Miramar, near Miami-Dade County which will open in 2023.  JDCH offers resources for academic pursuits, spanning from clinical research to basic science investigation via affiliations with nearby universities and through its Pediatric Institute for Discovery and Innovation (PIDI).
