Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

ABOUT THE ROLE
A competent Master’s level professional who delivers behavioral support to individuals experiencing significant disturbances in daily living due to developmental disabilities, persistent mental illness, challenging behaviors and / or difficulties with skill acquisition which prevents independent living. The BCBA will utilize professional clinical assessment and treatment skills; provide comprehensive case management for Behavior Support Services individuals; collaborate with staff and advocates; develop interventions and / or treatment plan goals; teach staff and individuals new skills to increase independence or decrease maladaptive behavior; provide crisis assessment, intervention and management (carry and respond to a work mobile phone); provide consultation through teaching, observation and feedback using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. The BCBA is also responsible for ensuring that services are rendered in accordance to all safety regulations, Federal and state regulations, agency and corporate polices and guidelines for ethical standards. The BCBA performs other duties as directed by supervisor, as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Evaluate, develop and implement behaviour modification programs for individuals that
require those supports in the community based residential and family support programs;
2. Provide technical assistance to staff to assure and reinforce active treatment approaches;
3. Provide ongoing training and assistance to staff in the areas of programming strategies,
identifying target behaviors, intervention techniques, data collection, report writing and
other required intervention strategies to assure active treatment approaches.
4. Provide direct intervention and follow up to consumers and support to staff in emergency
situations;
5. Serve as role model to staff to promote proactive behavioural approaches to individuals
with disabilities;
6. As required, provide direct service to individuals on a scheduled shift basis;
7. Complete all required trainings to maintain or obtain BCBA certification and State
Licensure;
8. Fully cooperate with Conexio and RHD and Division staff in any program inspection,
audit or investigation;
9. Submit all internal and external reports in a timely manner;
10. Serve as a liaison on interagency projects and internal agency committees
REQUIREMENTS
1. Knowledgeable in current principles of behavioral health care, specific to developmental
disabilities, mental illness and Applied Behavior Analysis.
2. Required : computer skills for word processing and data management. Supervisory and
administrative experience a plus. Good reading and writing skills required.
3. Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization and maintain good
working relationships with all employees.
4. Experience and the ability to present “New Hire Orientation” program to employees is
required.
5. Good working knowledge of Word and Excel are required.
6. Master's degree in behavior analysis or a related field with a minimum of three years of experience working with people with disabilities involving behavior modification. BCBA credentials and licensure required.

1. Thoroughly completes all assigned work and within the prescribed timeframes.
2. Effectively prioritizes daily responsibilities and duties.
3. Consistently arrives at work on time. Minimizes absences and gives advance notice
for lateness and other absences. Faithfully works flexible hours to meet the needs of
the organization.
4. Demonstrates the ability to work cooperatively with co-workers in and outside of the
department. Regularly volunteers to provide assistance when needed.
5. Regularly attends and participates in supervisory sessions as scheduled. Regularly
seeks timely and appropriate assistance from supervisor, peers and other resources.
