Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

About :

VocoVision is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our remote team, supporting K-12 students. In this role, you will help visually impaired students access their education through remote instruction, assistive technology, and braille education, ensuring they thrive in a virtual learning environment.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Provide remote instruction to students with visual impairments, including braille lessons, orientation and mobility training, and the use of assistive technology.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet each students unique needs and learning goals.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school teams to monitor student progress and adjust strategies as necessary.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, advocating for the necessary services and accommodations to ensure students receive equitable access to education.
  • Provide support to general education teachers on integrating students with visual impairments into the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed records in compliance with Colorados special education guidelines.

What You Need :

  • Valid Texas certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education with a focus on visual impairments.
  • At least two years of experience teaching visually impaired students (teletherapy experience preferred).
  • Proficiency with assistive technology and virtual teaching tools for visually impaired students.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working remotely with students, families, and school teams.
  • Reliable internet connection and a professional, quiet workspace.
