Job Description

The Patient Access Specialist is responsible for assisting patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacies with access to prescribed therapies. This role involves verifying insurance benefits, obtaining prior authorizations, and coordinating financial assistance to ensure timely initiation of treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform insurance benefit verification for prescribed medications and determine patient coverage.
• Obtain and follow up on prior authorizations and appeals with insurance companies.
• Communicate with healthcare providers, pharmacies, and patients to resolve access issues.
• Assist patients with enrollment in copay or patient assistance programs.
• Document all communications and case updates in CRM or case management systems.
• Ensure all activities comply with HIPAA and company policies.
• Provide high-quality customer service and meet performance goals.
