Summary
This position is responsible for the maintaining the daily operation of the designated Rehabilitation Services department(s) with responsibility for program planning and budget. Provide patient care within scope of practice for designated discipline. Clinical activities of this position are patient focused and utilize assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with disciplines standards, physician orders, and governing policies and procedures. This position delegates responsibility to clinical and ancillary staff as appropriate.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Educates patient, family, and / or caregiver regarding pathology or condition, patient alternatives, prognosis, and rationale for treatment through forms of rest, exercise, modalities, and other indicated interventions.
Provides supervision for clinical and ancillary staff including delegated patient care within scope of practice.
Recommends adaptive / supportive equipment based on assessment; contacts appropriate representative and / or supplier to place order and assists in securing equipment for patient.
Coordinates on-going process improvement for department(s).
Assists with program development. Coordinates department meetings including in-service / education agenda and staff meetings. Serves as department resource person.
Schedules clinical and ancillary staff as needed to ensure appropriate staffing for patient care needs.
Orders supplies and equipment as needed.
Performs job performance reviews of clinical and ancillary staff in department(s) as appropriate. Counsels employees and refers to appropriate resources as deemed necessary.
Responsible for budget and financial management, including completion of monthly budget variance reports and communication with finance department regarding correction of data errors. Approves appropriate expense requests from staff.
Completion of payroll for all staff including adjustments to pay management correction as needed.
Provide monthly summary reports to manager / director updating activity from departments. Completes patient / visitor variance reports, employee incident reports, and sick call reporting.
Completion of employee requisitions, status sheets, and separation forms as appropriate.
Assists with staff recruitment and interviews perspective employees. Completes justification reports for staff additions or replacements and presents to operations committee as needed.
Performs and completes appropriate disciplinary actions.
Attends and facilitates appropriate meetings with healthcare system.
Performs other duties as assigned.

For Physical Therapist (PT) : Graduate of a physical therapy curriculum approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
For Occupational Therapist (OT) : Completion of Bachelor of Science or Masters of Science in OT.
