Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is Seeking an Academic Pediatric Urologist

The Division of Urology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/Rutgers University is seeking candidates for full-time, non-tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level.

The Division of Urology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School staffs fellowship trained and board-certified Pediatric Urologists, offering care in 4 regional locations: The Bristol Myers Squibb Childrenâ€s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, the Childrenâ€s Hospital of New Jersey in Newark, the Unterberg Childrenâ€s Hospital in Long Branch and the Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.

Our physicians provide comprehensive evaluation; diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with congenital and acquired pediatric urology disorders. We are affiliated academically with the Division of Urology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, NJ. We provide training for urologic and pediatrics residents affiliated with our program. We also provide training for medical students from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick and NJ Medical School in Newark.

We offer the latest treatments and advanced technology, including endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, single port and standard robotic surgery through our certified Center of Excellence Pediatric and Adolescent Robotics Program. The program is the only program in the nation to be certified as a center of pediatric robotic excellence by the Surgical Review Corporation.

Pediatric urologists in the Division of Urology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School provide comprehensive diagnosis and care for a multitude of genitourinary conditions including bladder exstrophy/and other complex conditions that require genitourinary reconstruction, fetal urology, oncology, nephrolithiasis, spina bifida / neurogenic bladder, and voiding dysfunction.

Requirements:

• Must hold an MD degree
• Must be Fellowship Trained from Accredited Pediatric Urology Program
• Board certified / eligible in Urology
• Board certified / eligible in Pediatric Urology

Desirable qualifications:

• Strength in teaching
• Experience in clinical research
• Strong oral and written communication / interpersonal skills
• Ability to work comfortably in a high-intensity clinical and academic environment

About Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School: The Department of Pediatrics has a full complement of pediatric medical subspecialists who actively collaborate with pediatric surgical specialists in clinical care and academic endeavors. In the department are 124 physicians and basic scientists who conduct collaborative research with an emphasis on mechanisms of disease, novel therapies, epidemiology and/or outcomes research in the areas of relevance to childhood diseases. Our centers of excellence include The Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities, Child Health Sciences, and the Institute for the Study of Child Development. The Department has recently expanded by more than 40 new faculty members and plans to recruit additional faculty, to expand our research, education, and clinical programs and provide improved care to our patients.

The outpatient services are located in the Rutgers Child Health Institute of NJ, a state-of-the-art facility that includes a Pediatric CRC, Pediatric subspecialty offices, and a modern research facility. Our New Brunswick–based clinical programs have achieved Accredited Status for Ambulatory Health Care by the Joint Commission, one of only a small number of academic ambulatory practices with this status. Adjacent to the RWJ Barnabas Bristol-Myers Squibb Childrenâ€s hospital is the PSE&G Childrenâ€s Specialized Hospital, which is one of the countryâ€s largest inpatient acute rehabilitation facilities for children. Across the street is the Rutgers Cancer Institute of NJ – the only NCI designated center in the state of New Jersey.
