Main Line Automotive Service Technician
PURPOSE :
A Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned by dealer and factory standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
- Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; and completing preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation, and changes, wheel balancing, and replacing filters.
- Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; and replacing parts and components.
- Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; and adjusting controls and systems.
- Maintains vehicle records by accurate and neat recording of recommended service and repairs.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; and performing preventive maintenance.
- Contains costs by using warranty; evaluates service and parts options.
- Updates job knowledge by self participating in educational opportunities; and reading technical publications.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Service Technician Experience is required.Must be computer and Internet comfortable.Previous General Motors experience preferred, not required.ASE Certification preferred.Must possess good communication skills and work well with others.Must be Neat in appearance and maintain a neat work area.Valid Driver license and reliable transportation.Must have own tools.Neat and punctual.Drug-Free workplace - testing will be required before employment.This position is for experienced candidates only.COMPENSATION :
