Scientific Drilling is looking for a MWD Lab Technician to work at our Charleroi, PA Facility . Position Summary :

MWD Lab Technician responsibilities will be to assist the Measurements team in assuring that MWD tools used in the drilling industry are built and run properly in the field. This individual is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of downhole drilling tools and surface decoding systems to support the MWD team in the field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Must have a thorough understanding of MWD tools and services in an operational district.
• Comprehensive understanding of customer requirements.
• Must have a full understanding of processes and procedures of the operating area.
• Participate in developing testing and maintenance procedures.
• Receive used tools from field operations and perform preventative maintenance and repair as required.
• Participate in root cause analysis with engineering team.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in use of PC's and other MWD computer software.
• Ability to use specialized skills, knowledge and techniques in problem recognition and solution development.
• Able to troubleshoot and diagnose MWD tools.
• Ability assist MWD trainees and assist the MWD team on any questions they might have.
• Responsible for MWD products / services in a single legal entity.
• Monitors daily progress of job(s) or project(s).
• Works independently under general supervision, requiring normal guidance and review.
• Provides some technical guidance and work direction to MWD staff.
• Effectively manages MWD inventory and supplies.
• Perform other related duties and / or special projects as required / assigned.
• Must consistently demonstrate leadership within SDI interdependent safety culture.
