About the Role

The Company is seeking a Managing Director for its underwriting division. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a high-performing underwriting team, driving innovation, and best practices, and building and strengthening client relationships to support business growth. This role requires a results-driven individual with a proven track record in insurance sales leadership, a passion for developing talent, and a focus on achieving measurable results. The Managing Director will also be tasked with inspiring and guiding the team, strengthening sales strategies, and partnering with producers on new and renewal business. The ideal candidate for the Managing Director position at the company will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, at least 5 years of experience leading sales teams with direct management, and a minimum of 5 years in commercial multi-line underwriting / production in the Excess & Surplus (E&S) market. E&S experience is a mandatory requirement. The role demands a professional with a strong ability to build relationships, excellent sales, marketing, and organizational skills, and a keen attention to detail. The candidate should be adept at inspiring and motivating a team, and possess an insurance license, with CPCU, CIC, or equivalent being preferred. A willingness to travel 10-15% is also necessary for this position.
