Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Transporter
OVERVIEW :
Provide quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care environment which promotes their rights,
dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. In
addition, the C.N.A. Transporter will provide transportation for residents to and from appointments.
Responsibilities of the CNA-Transporter :
This position includes assisting, transporting and setting up appoints for resident at any given
time.
Additionally, the C.N.A.-Transporter will assist with floor duties as needed.
Other duties may be assigned.
Must be customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure
Must be approachable, flexible and adaptable to change
Must be willing to work weekends if needed
Must pass a Level II Background
Experience in Long Term Care preferred
Requirements / Qualifications for the CNA-Transporter position :
A high school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of a state-approved Nursing
Assistant Certification course or other education which meets state certification requirements
Must hold current Nursing Assistant Certifications in the state in which they are practicing
Must be knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the
privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
Current Transporter 's License with a clean driving record
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations
around the care center.
Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in
working environment.
Incumbent may be required to work extended periods of time at a video display terminal.
Incumbent may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and deceased patients.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and
hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping,
crouching, crawling and climbing all day.
The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients weighing over 50 pounds.
