We are seeking an experienced Power Supply Design Engineer with proven expertise in switch mode power supply (SMPS) design and testing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong theoretical knowledge combined with hands-on experience in developing, testing, and manufacturing power conversion systems.
Key Responsibilities
Switch Mode Power Supply Design : Design, develop, and optimize SMPS systems from concept through production, ensuring compliance with performance specifications and industry standards
Testing & Validation : Conduct comprehensive testing protocols including load testing, efficiency measurements, transient response analysis, and EMI / EMC compliance verification
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) : Create designs optimized for manufacturability, considering cost-effectiveness, scalability, yield optimization, and quality control requirements
Thermal Management : Design and implement thermal solutions for power supplies, including heat sink selection, airflow analysis, and thermal modeling
Problem-Solving : Troubleshoot and resolve design issues through root cause analysis, circuit optimization, and iterative testing
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
5-10 years of hands-on experience in power supply design with demonstrated SMPS design expertise
Proven experience in power supply testing methodologies and equipment
Strong understanding of power conversion topologies (flyback, forward converter, LLC, PFC, etc.)
Proficiency in thermal design principles for power electronics
Knowledge of safety standards (UL, IEC) and reliability requirements for power conversion devices
Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools
Preferred Qualifications
Firmware / microcontroller programming experience for digital power control
Proficiency with simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB, or equivalent)
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and best practices
Experience with magnetics design and component selection
