Job Overview

Bigge Crane & Rigging Co. is seeking a Junior Hoist Technician to join our team in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow within the hoist and lifting equipment industry while supporting maintenance and repair operations across Florida. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of electrical systems, know how to read electrical schematics (480V 3-Phase, VFDs, industrial controls) and mechanical components, with a strong willingness to learn from experienced technicians and advance their technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance of hoists and related equipment.
• Support assembly, dismantling, and transportation of hoists under supervision.
• Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
• Use diagnostic tools and computer systems to identify and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
• Assist in resolving service calls and respond to breakdowns as required.
• Follow all company and customer safety procedures and policies.
• Complete daily timesheets, inspection forms, and service reports accurately.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Support other team members and perform additional duties as assigned to meet company needs.
