We’re looking for someone who will :
- Manage up to (4) accounting staff. Evaluate and review staff based on Kingdom One’s policies.
- Delegate accounting tasks as appropriate.
- Participate in developing or adjusting scope for new or existing clients.
- Contribute to potential client calls as a subject matter expert.
- Onboard new ministries and clients from start to finish.
- Develop, document and / or refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for each ministry
- Assist in the development and management of budgets for clients.
- Oversee ministry engagements while actively participating in the accounting functions.
- Collaborate with Associate and Senior Accountants assigned to your ministries to ensure tasks are completed and deadlines are being met.
- Maintain accurate financial records with supporting reconciliations.
- Review and recommend changes to the accounting system and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
- Month-end close responsibilities.
- Review or prepare Bank / Investment Reconciliations
- Review or prepare ME journal entries including payroll
- Review Budget Activity and coding
- Review or prepare balance sheet, revenue and net asset reconciliations
- Pull ME reports for Ministry
- Review ME reports for accuracy
- Create ME board reports and recap if requested by Ministry
Contribute to special projects as assigned including but not limited to :
QBO, Bill.com, Ramp implementationsPayroll reviewHealth Assessments for MinistriesCoordinate with CPA firms on audit and tax engagements, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of reconciliations and reports.Support the Kingdom One Finance department in analyzing budget vs actual work hours and financial reporting.Internal Kingdom One accountingOur ideal candidate :
Is an experienced accountant with a minimum of 10-15 years and has a deep understanding of non-profit GAAP principles.Has experience with California Wage & Labor Law.Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.Managerial experience with 5 or more years.Quickbooks online experience required, Intacct and Aplos a plus.Bill.com and Ramp experience preferred.Church management systems experience preferred.Experience working for church, non-profit organizations in both accounting and payroll tasks.Prioritizes communication and loves working on a team.Is comfortable working in a fast-paced and growing environment.Is technology savvy and comfortable with using a variety of platforms, including G-suite or MS-office.Comfortable with being a client engagement lead on multiple projects.Is a strong project manager who loves to serve people, is collaborative, and is organized.Has a heart for serving the church, loves Jesus, and is excited to grow the capital “C” church.If this sounds like you- We’d love to get to know you more!
