Job description

Application Software Engineer

Our company exists to promote and protect life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We design build and support low Size Weight and Power (SWaP) multimode airborne radar systems. We support the entire lifecycle-often beginning by defining a market where none exists building the product training our customers and providing ongoing field support.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Application Software addition to skills and experience we are after someone who is a healthy fit - someone who aligns with our company core values and is a team player. We are looking for someone with the skills and experience to design develop and test software used mostly on workstations for our state-of-the-art radar systems. The job requires quick thinking and an ability to grasp complex systems. You will be working with a talented team on compelling products and will have an opportunity to make a big difference for the company and for our customers who need the capabilities we can provide.

These are some of the things that are important to us :

Required :

  • First and foremost you are a good fit for the team and will enjoy working with us
  • Ability to work inside a collaborative process as well as individually
  • At least a bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 5 years of C development experience
  • Competent with the Qt framework and User Interfaces
  • Competent with Windows
  • Competent using Git version control
  • Understand and can apply software architecture principles to improve code
  • Working knowledge of communications protocols i.e. TCP UDP
  • You live locally or are willing to relocate to the area
  • At least 60% of time in the office more while coming up to speed

    • Desired :

  • Familiar with Python Rust Golang & LUA
  • Familiar with Confluence GitLab & Jira
  • Helpful : SQL GDAL graphics OpenGL osgEarth OpenSceneGraph
  • Radar systems experience
  • Experience designing and debugging multithreaded crossplatform internationalized applications
  • Experience building and using Docker containers
  • Familiar with Squish and CI / CD pipelines
  • Familiar working in the Linux OS (BASH ssh etc)
