Qualifications :
Education : Masters Degree in Library Science and a Juris Doctorate
Experience : Professional law library work and staff supervision and management budgeting contract / project management.

Job Overview :
The Supreme Court of Montana seeks a Law Librarian to head the State Law Library located in Helena Montana. The Law Librarian position is technical and involves the development / maintenance of the law library collection and services to fulfill the needs of the library users. This position provides strategic vision and operational management of the law library. This role is appointed and not part of the Judicial Branch Pay Plan.
Job Duties :
Supervises employees. Assigning work monitoring progress and evaluating staff performance. Assisting with hiring and training of new employees. Providing staff with professional support and development. Providing back-up support for staff position work.
The law librarian works to support the mission of the law library which is to provide legal information and resources to enhance knowledge of the law and court system and to facilitate equal access to justice statewide.
