The Staten Island YMCA Counseling Service is seeking a Counselor who will be responsible for providing care to a designated caseload, including the provision of direct individual, group, and family sessions. The Counselor will also be responsible for coordinating specialized program services and managing the caseload.

Key Responsibilities :

• Facilitation of sessions, including, but not limited to, outreach / engagement activities, group, individual, family, crisis intervention, case management, and referrals.
• Clinicians will conduct screenings, assessments, determine the appropriate level of care, treatment planning, and discharge planning.
• Clinicians will participate in diagnostic and treatment plan development in consultation with the Clinical Supervisor, as needed.
• Coordination of care and case management for designated caseload : completing ongoing reporting, outreach, referrals, and dialogue with professionals working with the caseload.
• Participation in team meetings, individual / group supervisions, community coalition meetings, and identified training opportunities.
• Fiscal Management : attendance management, census administration, retention of cases, family support, fee collection, and outreach presentations.
• Conduct urine and saliva toxicology screens.
• Maintain superior Quality Assurance & Program Quality : contract and regulation compliance, fulfilling clinical standards and best practices. Timely and comprehensively complete all related documentation.
• In the absence of on-site supervisors, will serve as the Manager on Duty (MOD) when requested / approved.
• When appropriate, serve as the Task Supervisor to interns / volunteers.
• In the absence of colleagues, will serve as an alternate clinician for clients.
• Other duties as assigned.
