Job Summary

We are seeking a visionary Field CTO - Digital Infrastructure & Network Automation to lead modernization, performance engineering, and automation-first initiatives across large-scale infrastructure environments. This role focuses on architecting scalable infrastructure, driving open-source automation, and accelerating performance across data centers, Points of Presence (PoPs), backbone networks, and edge deployments.

You will act as a senior technical advisor and innovation partner, shaping infrastructure strategy and enabling operational excellence.

Key Focus Areas

Designing and building scalable data centers, cloud-native infrastructure, and network backbone systems
Modernizing network and infrastructure to improve performance, resilience, and delivery speed
Leading infrastructure and network automation initiatives using open-source tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, NetBox, Python)
Implementing build-and-test labs for validation and operational readiness
Architecting AI / ML platforms for predictive infrastructure operations and HPC environments
Driving cloud and infrastructure cost optimization across hybrid / multi-cloud landscapes
Establishing observability, telemetry, and monitoring systems for digital infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Transformation

Architect scalable infrastructure solutions across data centers, edge / PoP environments, and backbone networks

Integrate AI / ML into operations to enable predictive, self-healing, and anomaly-detection systems

Drive performance architecture improvements in content delivery and low-latency compute environments

Define strategies from physical infrastructure (rack-and-stack) to virtualized environments

Automation & Optimization

Build and scale infrastructure automation frameworks using open-source tools

Champion network automation practices like zero-touch provisioning and intent-based networking

Lead cost-efficiency initiatives across compute, storage, and networking layers

Develop reusable automation playbooks and modular deployment assets

Observability & Operational Excellence

Create observability frameworks for real-time visibility and analytics

Embed resilience, auto-remediation, and fault tolerance into core designs

Collaborate with SRE and operations teams on dashboards and health scoring systems

Leadership & Evangelism

Partner with infrastructure stakeholders to co-create transformation roadmaps

Represent infrastructure architecture in technical reviews, governance sessions, and innovation planning

Evangelize thought leadership through whitepapers, industry forums, and technical councils

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

15+ years in infrastructure architecture, network engineering, and operations

Expertise in data center design, structured cabling, provisioning, and device lifecycle management

Hands-on leadership in PoP infrastructure, backbone networks, and content delivery ecosystems

Proven success in leading modernization and automation initiatives

Technical Expertise

Proficiency in open-source automation (Ansible, Terraform, NetBox, Python)

Strong knowledge of network and infrastructure performance tuning

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), hybrid architecture, and edge computing

Understanding of AI / ML applications in observability and infrastructure automation

Leadership & Collaboration

Excellent communication and stakeholder influence at senior executive levels

Ability to lead cross-functional engineering and delivery teams

Comfortable in fast-paced environments requiring innovation, adaptability, and execution ownership
