We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team in Deerfield Beach, Florida. This is a Contract to permanent position offering the opportunity to contribute to a detail-oriented and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal procedures, data management, and client interaction, ensuring the highest standard of support for our clients.
Responsibilities :
- Review, organize, and sort client documents with precision and accuracy.
- Enter client information into a production control system while maintaining data integrity.
- Prepare and review responses to production requests and mandatory disclosures.
- Compile lists of missing documents and communicate effectively with clients and attorneys.
- Utilize QuickBooks to save files to the production control system and assist the accounting team with data entry for financial tracings.
- Conduct thorough reviews of pleadings, discovery documents, and financial records, including tax returns and statements.
- Manage electronic filing (e-Filing) and ensure all court filings meet deadlines and compliance requirements.
- Handle calendar management to coordinate schedules and deadlines effectively.
- Support litigation processes, including civil and family law matters.
- Assist in reviewing contracts, financial statements, and mortgage documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and QuickBooks.
- In-depth knowledge of legal procedures, including pleadings, discovery, and document preparation.
- Familiarity with e-Filing systems, civil litigation processes, and family law practices.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze financial documents, such as tax returns, bank statements, and mortgage records.
- Experience with calendar management and court filing procedures.
- Access to a home computer for remote work when required.
