Job Description
A dynamic, design-forward wallpaper company seeking a Junior Graphic Designer to join our Design & Development team. This individual will work closely with the Design Director and Creative Operations Manager to assist with the creation of product imagery, product packaging concepts, collection materials, and more. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate concepts into compelling visuals that resonate with our target audience. The candidate should have a thorough understanding of the interior design industry, photography, and packaging design.
The individual should be self-motivating, able to work independently and as a team player who brings dynamic ideas to each project. The candidate should also be an excellent communicator, well organized and able to balance multiple projects simultaneously, while producing quality work and meeting tight deadlines.
This role is based at our main office in Brick, NJ.
What you will be doing :
- Utilize layer masks and Photoshop tools to edit and create product imagery
- Maintain environment library using standard operating procedures and department standards
- Assist in internal product photography for use in marketing materials, product imagery, and as social assets
- Color correct product imagery
- Aid in the process of packaging design concept creation, artwork proofing, and artwork approvals
- Help request, organize, and maintain product sample strike offs and sample requests
- Assist in the creation and editing of company presentations
- Researching relevant trends in home and fashion for prints, patterns, and color for upcoming seasons
What do you need to bring :
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field.Enthusiasm for textiles, interior design, pattern design and art historyExperience as a graphic designer, preferably in the ecommerce or home decor industryUnderstanding of basic imagery file formats and their specific usesStrong conceptual, layout, and color sensibilityProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), other graphic design software, and Microsoft OfficeComfort with the sourcing and creation of mock environmentsStrong understanding of typography, color theory, and composition.Basic Photography skills and experience with product photographyExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Please send your resume & portfolio showcasing your design work, with an emphasis on digital collateral.
