General Scope of Responsibility: To develop production schedules, procure raw materials, ensure notification and shipment of product to our customers in the right quantities at the established delivery times, and to coordinate all customer contact on any issues requiring attention.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Manage the appropriate TS systems and procedures needed to effectively perform the ‘production control functions’
- Develops, maintains, improves, and assures the effective execution of documented procedures needed to effectively manage the ‘production control functions’ and comply with TS16949/ISO14001EMS documentation.
Manages raw, in process, and finished goods inventories
- Assures inventory obsolescence is avoided
- Assures obsolescence claims against our customers are filed and paid
- Maintains pre-established finished and raw material inventory levels
- Implement and manage Lean pull systems.
Manages contacts with customers
- Act as a liaison with customer for delivery concerns and other requests
- Utilize customer systems (FORD-DDL, GPIRS, GPC,SUPER-G, SERVICE; FCA-SMART; GM Supply Power, SPOC, CLIPS,GMCC & MMOG/LE.)
- Review changes or launch of new product, inform customer to ensure breakpoints and eliminate obsolescence.
Monitors and informs Materials Manager on issues with key departmental measurables/deliverables
- Customer delivery performance metrics.
- Premium freight for in-bound and out-bound materials
- Vendor delivery, performance
- Inventory Cycle Counts Adjustments
Performs and oversees various budget related tasks
- Assures bills and routers are correct during annual profit planning process
Schedules Production
- Schedules production equipment and communicates schedule with Manufacturing
- Assist in establishing crewing needs for production floor and communicates with Manufacturing
- Assures bills and routers are entered correctly on new business/engineering changes
- Contact Customer for engineering changes or launch of new product.
- Assures errors in bills and routers are identified and eliminated
- Coordinate scheduling of new items and engineering changes, trial runs, PPAP runs, engineering runs and preventative maintenance run on machines.
- Review customer releases and communicate to management and/or customer of possible shortage and changes (i.e downtime) to management.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Work Experience, etc.):
Minimum [Must have to be considered for the position]:
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- 6 years of experience in production, inventory control, and customer service in an automotive environment.
- Experience with MRP, master schedules, SMART/DDL, and ASN experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with automotive supplier applications including bar code, EDI and JIT applications.

- Occasionally ascends/descends ladders or stairs on manufacturing equipment to assist with trial runs. Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 40 pounds across plant floor when assisting in tool launch process. Must be able to walk through the manufacturing plant and stand for long periods of time. Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
