Description :
PTAs implement components of patient care.
They obtain data related to the treatments provided.
They collaborate with the PT to modify care as necessary.
PTAs assist the physical therapist in the treatment of individuals of all ages, from newborns to people at the end of life.
Key responsibilities include helping patients stretch and exercise certain muscle groups.
PTAs read instructions from the Physical Therapist.
They work directly with the Physical Therapist to assist patients.
PTAs speak with families to identify the best at-home techniques.
They are responsible for keeping the physical therapy environment clean and organized.
PTAs move patients from wheelchairs or walkers to the physical therapy area.
They complete administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and filing paperwork.
PTAs teach patients techniques such as balance training.
