About The Position

Telemetry experience is required.

Experience with 1 : 3 patient ratios is preferred.

Description :

This position starts on 11 / 19.

One request for time off (up to 7 consecutive days) will be considered.

No holiday time off will be granted.

The role involves caring for patients in an observation unit with 8 rooms and 16 beds.

The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 : 4, with experience preferred in a 1 : 3 ratio.

Candidates must have telemetry experience.

Staff may be required to float to medical / surgical units and telemetry.

Every other weekend shifts are typically required.

Scheduling is self-managed with the balance approved by management.

Experience as a traveling nurse is preferred, but first-time travelers may be considered with appropriate experience.

Navy scrubs are required.

Providers have access to various support services including interpretation, pharmacy, respiratory, and more.

Provider coverage includes intensivists, nurse practitioners, and hospitalists.

Candidates must have experience in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias.

Knowledge of insulin drip titration and feeding tube management is essential.

Pre / post hemodialysis management and renal failure experience are required.

Skills in starting IVs, managing various types of IV lines, and adhering to protocols must be demonstrated.

Care for ventilated patients and non-invasive airway management techniques is essential.

Knowledge of isolation precautions and wound care is required.

Experience with arterial lines, central line management, and phlebotomy is preferred.

Candidates should be prepared to care for patients of various age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Weekends will require coverage, with shifts occurring every other weekend minimally.

The unit typically sees various patient diagnoses and requires adherence to strict safety protocols.

Experience working with rapid response teams is necessary.
